Palestine Flag Balaclava - Product
OverviewProtect yourself from doxxing, harrassment, and state surveillance during actions against genocide with this crocheted Palestine Flag Balaclava!
Activists have faced increased surveillance and repression in the past few years, particularly those fighting against the genocide by Israel and its allies in Palestine. We have seen people getting doxxed, losing their jobs, getting harrassed at their home addresses, receiving violent threats, being targeted by police with intimidating home visits and searches, and so on. Surveillance technology has advanced and spread to such a degree that putting yourself out there publicly can carry a certain risk. This is why more and more activists cover their faces during actions, using keffiyehs, balaclavas, or other creative methods. While face coverings can undermine support from the general public due to associations with criminal behavior, the protection offered can be worthwhile regardless. In the meantime, we have to keep bridging the gap between activists and general public by stressing what is at stake in a world where genocides are normalized, fascism is spreading, militarization is exploding, and the breakdown of the climate is already endangering the lives and livelihoods of billions of people worldwide.
After seeing and experiencing various forms of surveillance, harrassment, and repression directed at activists protesting against the genocide in Palestine, I created this Palestine Flag Balaclava. This listing is for the finished product (limited availability). It is made with Hoooked Recycled DK Cotton, with 80% recycled cotton and 20% other recycled fibers.
Those who prefer to make it themselves can find a separate listing for the pdf pattern in English and Dutch here.
